Teatrò is a cultural and artistic center located in the heart of Nazareth’s Old City Market. The center aspires to become a permanent home for cultural events and artistic activities, offering a vibrant space for creativity and expression in the arts.

More than just a venue, Teatrò is a platform for public engagement—using art as a tool for social awareness, community empowerment, and meaningful change.

Our Vision for the Project

  • Establishing a high-quality center for creativity in the field of culture and arts in the heart of the old Nazareth market, which will provide an appropriate social response to the current lack of engagement with a multicultural audience, an academic audience, and the general public, especially the youth segment.
  • Leading change in culture consumption patterns across all sectors in the country, including the religious and historical landmarks of Nazareth as one of the most important cities in the world.
  • To be a center that preserves the heritage and cultural identity of young creators and talents from the Palestinian Arab community, and to develop artistic and cultural creative work in all fields of arts, in addition to workshops to enrich new and old artists.

Our Goals

The driving force behind the creation of this project is a deep desire to lead a transformative shift in how culture, creativity, economy, and consumption are perceived in Nazareth and the northern region.

This project aspires to offer a meaningful response to the needs of the Arab community by establishing a center for creativity and culture—one that combines a unique and authentic experience focused on nurturing human life, raising awareness, and fostering social growth.

Founder and Director of the Institution

Hisham Suleiman
Artist, visionary, and cultural entrepreneur, Hisham Suleiman is the Founder and Director of *Teatrò* – a Center for Creativity, Culture, and Community, established in 2017 in the city of Nazareth. The center aims to promote artistic and cultural activity, nurture creativity, and develop cultural initiatives that serve and empower the Arab community.

Hisham has initiated and led numerous cultural projects, most notably founding and managing the *Nazareth Fringe Theatre* for 15 years. He also established the Nazareth Academy for Theatre and Acting.

As a director and producer, Hisham has created over 50 theatrical productions. He is a respected acting teacher and lecturer at the Western Galilee College, and has performed in all major theaters across the country. His acting career spans both local and international television series and films.

Our Future Home – In the Heart of Historic Nazareth

The Teatrò Center for Creativity and the Arts will be located in Nazareth—the largest and most historically rich Arab city in the country. The center’s main activities will take place in a rare and beautifully preserved 200-year-old building, a traditional **khan** tucked away in the winding alleys of Nazareth’s Old Market.

The building has been carefully and professionally restored to maintain its authentic architectural and cultural character. Spanning **260 square meters** over two floors, the space is designed to serve as a vibrant and functional cultural hub.

- **Ground Floor**: A versatile area that includes offices, lounges, and a performance hall with a seating capacity of 70, a 30-square-meter stage, restrooms, a cozy sitting area, and an entrance courtyard styled in traditional Levantine-Palestinian design.
- **Upper Floor**: Four guest rooms dedicated to hosting visiting artists and cultural collaborators.

Teatrò’s location will not only preserve the spirit of the past but will serve as a living, breathing space for future creativity, dialogue, and artistic exchange.
